We spent two luxurious nights in Edinburgh at the Kimpton on Charlotte Square. The first full day we were on our own to play in the City. We visited Edinburgh Castle, the Queen’s Palace at Holyroodhouse, the Scottish Parliament and walked the Royal Mile.

Scottish Parliament – on Fiona’s advice we visited the Scottish Parliament where I was almost prosecuted for having pepper spray which is a weapon in the U.K. oops! The policeman was very sweet and decided to just confiscate it and had me sign his notebook while chatting cheerfully about all his various trips to Florida :)! We watched the Members of Parliament thoughtfully discuss amendments to a witness protection law. They had a beautiful poem about their building inside and also three panels featuring 99 sentences from women about 99 women that inspired them…

My school friend Fiona who lives down the way in Dunbar met me that afternoon and we had a lovely time catching up and enjoyed a meal before she caught the last train home.

What lovely pictures.
