On Sunday we started the day by sharing Eucharist with another group of Episcopal pilgrims at a nearby Church of Scotland (Presbyterian). The rest of the day we spent learning about and touring the Iona Abbey (pictures above and below) which was right next door to our hotel.
We all very much felt the presence of God in this ‘thin place.’

I lit a candle for my grandmother Barbara, walked outside thinking of her and miraculously received my first call from her and Uncle John in weeks, despite no cell service on the island!

The chapel where St Columba was first laid to rest.

We ended the day with services at the Bishop’s Chapel and then a meditation for peace in the Abbey.
So blessed…
So beautiful…
